Quiz Show (interactive)
Review and assessment game for online training.
Designed and programmed in Flash with Perl back-end.

The Quiz Show is based on a similar concept to The Game Show we developed for Dell Computer but is an entirely new design, both visually and internally, developed from the ground up. Quiz Show offers multiple enhancements over the older Game Show including:

• Timed play (e.g. 5 minutes to answer as many questions as you can) with a countdown clock display.
• A "leader board" that displays the top 10 high scores with player names (and a login feature for specifying names).
• Auto-zoom category titles: headings enlarge as mouse passes near them. This feature can be toggled off/on by clicking on a heading.
• Access restrictions which can prohibit play except from designated locations (client IP addresses) while allowing hosting at another location.
• New user-interface with more extensive animations and new original soundtrack.
• Runs in a plain (no URL bar, no navigation controls, etc.) pop-up window.
• Quit button (plays game-over animation, updates scores on server, closes pop-up window).

Other features that are planned, but not yet implemented, include:

• Administrator mode which allows changing the content (questions and answers) directly in the game without requiring access to server files.
• Statistical records on which questions are missed most often and which questions are answered correctly most often to allow fine-tuning the content.
